Langkawi, Malaysia (May 12)

Langkawi, or the Jewel of Kedah, is the major city in an archipelago of 99 islands off the coast of Malaysia. It is separated from Malaysia and the southwestern  coast of Thailand by the Strait of Malacca. This stop was added when Myanmar was cancelled. Langkawi is often compared favorably to Bali or Phuket because it has beautiful beaches and much less traffic. We anchored offshore, took a tender, and wandered along a beach admiring the view.
