Walvis Bay, Namibia (Mar 31- Apr 1)
Walvis Bay (literally whale bay) is the largest port and second largest city in Namibia. The natural deep water harbor is sheltered by Pelican Point sand spit, home to a variety of birds, especially flamingos. Massive sand dunes of the Namib desert surround the town.
The welwitschia plant can live 500 years in the desert with little water
