Lüderitz, Namibia (Apr 2)

Although founded in 1883, the town only briefly boomed in the early 20th century when diamonds were discovered nearby. But after the first World War, South Africa took over administration of the country and deported most Germans, and the diamond mines dried up. The population now is around 12,500. It’s a very sleepy town, especially on a Sunday when we arrived!
