Santos, Brazil (Mar2)

Santos serves as the port and nearest beach to São Paulo. Dwarfed by its huge neighbor, Santos has roughly 500,000 inhabitants to São Paulo’s 20+ million, but balloons on weekends. The port and industrial area are busy all year. Because the wealth, financial, and commercial activity is in São Paulo, Santos is pretty sleepy (…and uninteresting) by comparison. But its beach curves for miles around a lovely bay.

The shopping mall where our shuttle bus dropped us was having an Easter egg celebration.

The beach was amazing. So were the bikinis.
