Cabo Frio/Buzios, Brazil (Mar 5)

Cabo Frio, so named because the Portuguese found the waters cold, centers on a charming little bay and lagoon.  We anchored offshore and tendered in. Because it was Sunday, lots of people were fishing, swimming, and strolling. Instead of spending our limited 6 hours in Cabo Frio, we grabbed a taxi and headed to Buzios about 45 minutes away. Buzios, the St Tropez of Brazil, is an upscale small resort community with 23 beaches that skyrocketed to fame in 1964 when Brigitte Bardot visited. Originally a fishing community, many streets still have cobblestones.
