Puerto Chacabuco, Chile (Feb 11)

Puerto Chacabuco is nestled into the Chilean fjords amidst stunning scenery. Not much of a town, it serves as the gateway to scenic wonders. And, because we didn’t anchor until noon, there was time for a tango lesson in the morning! Eschewing the long (and expensive) ship-sponsored tours, we made our own adventure, took the tender into the port (such as it is) and then grabbed a local bus to the next town over, Puerto Aysen which gave us more opportunities to see the amazing countryside.
