Buenos Aires, Argentina (Feb 25-26)

Buenos Aires, Argentina’s cosmopolitan capital, is known as the “Paris of South America.” We spent two glorious days here and were feted one evening with an extravaganza showcasing tango and other performance arts. Days were spent walking and touring sites we remembered from previous visits. Such as:

Casa Rosada (their White House). Bill kept singing “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” in memory of Eva Peron

La Recoleta, famous cemetery (where Eva is buried) and the fancy neighborhood around it

La Boca, and colorful Caminito Street. Birthplace of tango

San Telmo. Sunday antique market in Plaza Dorrego

Capitol building

Oblelisk at Plaza de La Republica

Cathedral, housing remains of San Martin, liberator of Argentina, Chile, and Peru

Navy Club

Exterior and Interior of Galeria Pacifico shopping mall

Palacio Barolo office building

Evening extravaganza

Beautiful parks and monuments all around the city

Bye bye
